My Pink Diamonds

I love a great jewelry find. When I can get a great deal on a statement piece of jewelry, I’m as happy as a kid in a candy store. Recently, I’ve been obsessed with cocktail rings. They go with any outfit, from sheaths that I wear to the office to sundresses that I sport on the weekends to cocktail dresses that are donned for special occasions. So lately, I’ve been in heaven with all the fabulously affordable CZ rings.

One of the things that I love to do is watch celebs on the red carpet. When they’re strutting their stuff, I’m secretly coveting their bodacious baubles and killer heels, as I make a mental note about who’ll end up on the “Best Dressed” list for that event. I’ve been noticing a lot of cocktail rings at movie premieres, photo calls and press events. And the great thing is, once I see something on an A-lister’s finger, I immediately make it my mission to find a replica for a much cheaper price. In fact, my obsession with Cubic Zirconia rings is in full effect. I find it comforting that I can find celeb inspired pieces that offer all the sparkle and glam as the real thing, yet only cost a fraction of the price.

CZ rings with pearls and clusters of stones are a great vintage-y find that like to pair with t-shirts and jeans, as much as with other art deco inspired looks. And I absolutely adore the oversize floral CZ rings with a giant bloom taking front and center stage. When I want to add a little rock and roll vibe to an outfit or a little edge to a feminine blouse, I throw on a Cubic Zirconia ring in a dark stone and silver setting. Wear it in white.  Another great suggestion is to wear your long-sleeved dress in white.  This is a bold and very much unexpected turn for the more modest styled dress.  However, to keep the look fresh and not sterile, pair your look with bold colored accessories.  A lipstick red skinny belt and matching lipstick red pair of stiletto sandals would be my pick.  Accessories and heels in either black or royal blue would also work well with a white long-sleeved dress.

Do not wear necklace in case your dress has boat or halter neckline, so in this case you can certainly try out some pretty earrings, bracelets, and rings. If you choose to wear a strapless or delicate strap style dress then go ahead with a simple choker or a drop necklace for enhancing your looks a step further. A deep V-neck also looks stunning with a long plunging lariat or short delicate choker.

Now let’s not miss talking about shoes in this entire prom-dressing race. Obviously shoes add a final touch to your dress. So decide on the magnificence you want to portray on that eve in choosing your shoes. Heels look great but flats are better alternatives looking at the level of comfort. Metallic-colored shoes in silver, gold and bronze will go with any color (red with gold, lavender with silver, bright pink with silver, et cetera) and are always easy to accessorize with. However, there are some gowns, which need a certain specific match only. For short dresses you can flaunt medium, low or high heels, while you can glide into the hearts of boys with open-toe sling backs or stilettos if you are wearing a floor-grazing gown.
